Conference / March 19, 2017 - March 20, 2017
»44th Freiburg Infrared Colloquium« at Fraunhofer IAF
Infrared technology – key technology for security, medicine, astronomy and industry
From March 19th – 20th 2019, the »44th Freiburg Infrared Colloquium« will offer a renowned international platform for infrared technology experts. Material scientists, device physicists, application engineers and end users of infrared detectors, lasers and systems are invited to get informed on the recent state of the art of infrared technologies and to present latest developments.
For the 44th time since its foundation in 1971, the Freiburg Infrared Colloquium brings together distinguished international attendees from various industrial and research sectors. The colloquium provides a unique forum to discuss both latest topics of relevance for the realization of semiconductor emitters and detectors, as well as their use in production and environmental control, medical diagnostics, as well as security applications. The agenda of the two-day workshop covers physics and material science of infrared detectors and lasers as well as device fabrication technology and system aspects.
Infrared technology opens up new paths
As an important key technology for the development of high performance detectors and lasers, infrared technology plays an essential role in the areas of security, defense and space applications. In addition to these traditional applications, infrared detectors and lasers are emerging into new areas like medical diagnostics, gas analysis, spectroscopy as well as material processing and testing.
Scope of the workshop is to bring together the different stakeholders in the field, in order to foster the international cooperation for the further development of infrared technology and its various applications.
With contributions from renowned invited speakers from the UK, Italy, Israel, and the US, as well as with about 30 contributed presentations, the workshop will cover a wide range of topics – reaching from latest research findings and the fabrication of infrared devices, to applications in the various industries.
