In this year’s annual report we would like to show you how we are actively shaping the second generation of quantum technologies with our research and development at Fraunhofer IAF.

Aiming for innovative and powerful quantum systems, especially in the fields of quantum computing and quantum sensing, we conduct application-oriented research and development work in close cooperation with partners from politics, research and industry, to bring these technologies to market maturity.

Highlights from this year’s annual report

Quantum Systems

In 2020 we bundled our competencies in our new business unit “Quantum Systems” for this purpose, established an application laboratory for quantum sensor technology and the Competence Center “Quantum Computing Baden-Württemberg”, and expanded our existing networks.

We are convinced that only together can we advance this important future field in Germany and Europe and harness its enormous development opportunities for various markets.
